Lilly 4Q profit cataract 27 pct, hurt by patent loss
Lilly lost U.S. patent protection at home October in lieu of Zyprexa, an antipsychotic with the aim of generated 19 percent of its third-quarter revenue. Zyprexa revenue fell 44 percent to $749.6 million taking part in the fourth quarter. Similarly, Pfizers PFE fourth-quarter profit besides fell, hurt by blockbuster cholesterol drug Lipitor down patent protection.
